Goal: In this exercise you will learn several editing functions for tables.

At the end of this exercise you should be able to:

• Use the Table pull-down menu and begin the start editing function
• Sort records in a table
• Use the edit tool
• Add a field to a table

الهدف من هذا الدرس التعامل مع الجداول وكيفية التعديل في البيانات

Step 1. Add the "Exwatershd.shp" and the "Countbnd.shp" to the View. Click on the "Exwatshd.shp" to make the theme active.

Note: Suppose you've been told that one of the unique ID's   (Unique_id 7441-8635-43) in the "Attributes of Exwatshd.shp" has the wrong attribute. As it happens, the error is relevant to your analysis (in any case, you want your map to be accurate). To correct the mistake, you will need to edit the value of the appropriate record in the table. Before you edit tabular data (change cell values or add or delete records or fields), ArcGIS requires that you turn on the editor function.

Step 2.  Make sure the "Exwatshd.shp" is active (if it is not already), open the "Attributes of Exwatshd.shp" table by pressing the Open Attribute Table Table pull-down menu

Step 3. At the top left of your project page click the Editor button and scroll down to Start Editing .

Step 4. The Starting Editing button allow you to change anym of the tabular data in the attribute table. Click on the data you wish to change and you will receive a cursor. You now can change the ID that you discovered is wrong.

عند تفعيل الــــ  Starting Editing يمكنك تعديل البيانات

Step 4.Right click on the Unique_ID column, this will give options to Sort (Ascending/Descending). This will easy the search for the value 7441-8635-43, you need to change.

يمكنك ترتيب البيانات تصاعدوي او تنازلي من خلال الضغط مرتين علي اسم العمود أو من خلال R.Click واختيار احدهما

Step 5. Click on the Editor tab and scroll down to stop editing. This will prompt you to save your edits.

stop editing  يؤدي ذلك لحفظ  التغييرات اللي قمت بها وعند اختيار

Step 6.  To add a field, open the attribute table for the Exwatshed.shp layer. Click on the Options tab at the bottom of the table and scroll down to Add Field.

لأضافة حقل جديد يجب علينا ايقاف الـــ Editing ويتم إضافته كما موضح بالصورة السابقة

Step 7.  In the Name: input box, type Comments. In the Type: select Text. ClickOK to add the new field to the table.

البرنامج يطلب منك تحديد نوع البيانات التي سيتم ادخالها سواء حروف او ارقام واسم الحقل وعدد احرف البيانات التي سيتم ادخالها

Step 8.The new field is added at the end of the table. To make the table active start the editor and type your comments into the attribute table.

Step 9. Select Stop Editing. The Stop Editing dialog box asks you if you want to save your edits.

Step 10.  Click Yes to save your edits

ويمكنك بعد اضافته التعديل فيه وادخال البيانات المطلوبة
